Public Health Research

The IUCT Oncopole has a public health platform with a view to better understanding of social inequalities in cancer and identifying new risks linked to general and occupational environments, individual and collective behavior and the development of technologies. Inequalities in health are very complex and require a multidisciplinary approach.
The objectives of this platform are as follows:

  • In the oncology field, to develop activities and research in public health and epidemiology ,
  • to facilitate and promote population-based research and activities,
  • to create a regional dynamic for the dissemination of knowledge, to implement studies on the general population, and also to apply knowledge and access to innovation as regards prevention among the general population.

It   develops research in areas as diverse as descriptive and analytical epidemiology, therapeutic evaluation in clinical trials, evaluation of health programs or medical and economic analysis of management strategies. It contributes to the emergence of topics such as the study of social inequalities and the methodology of data collection and management.  The structure welcomes   students, researchers and scientists involved in both teaching and research from various specialties.
