About us
The Oncopole, a center for cancer care, research, and training in Toulouse, brings together the expertise of 2,300 professionals on a single site designated as a “Comprehensive Cancer Center.” It combines several state-of-the-art clinical facilities for cancer treatment with a world-class research infrastructure on an integrated campus that brings together public and private stakeholders, including industrial partners. The IUCT-Oncopole, which brings together the Oncopole Claudius Regaud (OCR) and several teams from the Toulouse University Hospital, treats more than 10,000 new patients each year, and more than one in eight patients is enrolled in clinical trials
The Oncopole treats all patients requiring care for the following conditions: hematology, gynecological cancers, ENT cancers, skin cancers (melanomas), certain sarcomas, and urology (medical and innovative surgical treatments).
The Oncopole brings together all the oncology disciplines essential for detecting, treating, and monitoring the disease: surgery, medicine, radiation therapy and brachytherapy, nuclear medicine, interventional imaging, biology, and pathology. Care for the disease is based on a multidisciplinary approach that ensures high-quality care: patient cases are discussed and reviewed during weekly meetings attended by physicians from different specialties.
Doctors and researchers work daily on therapeutic innovation programs. The Institute has provided them with high-tech platforms to ensure optimal care that immediately incorporates the latest advances in both diagnosis and treatment.
IUCT-Oncopole is part of the public oncology network located in Toulouse at the following sites: IUCT-Oncopole, IUCT Purpan, and IUCT Rangueil-Larrey.
