Management of young patients and elderly patients
In oncogeriatrics, the patient's health capital (possible multiple diseases), autonomy and family situation are taken into account. Based on these parameters, the oncogeriatric specialists set out a care program combining efficacy and preservation of the quality of life (prevention of hospital re-admissions, etc.). The patient's schedule is coordinated with Purpan IUCT.
Young and adolescent patients receive treatment in the pediatric oncology ward which is adapted for the medical and psychological vulnerabilities associated with these age groups. Depending on the situation they may be offered specific treatment, particularly in hematology or radiation therapy. Pediatric oncology care is coordinated with Purpan IUCT.
