The nuclear medicine and brachytherapy unit

The unit receives patients for vectorized internal radiotherapy or brachytherapy in a radio-protected service.

The nuclear medicine and brachytherapy hospitalization unit  is a radio-protected sector where patients are isolated for treatment with unsealed radioactive isotopes (vectorized internal radiation therapy) or by the application of sealed sources (brachytherapy).

Distribution of the 18 hospital beds

  • 13 for radioactive iodine (I-131) therapy (including 3 day hospitalization beds)
  • 5 for brachytherapy

Innovation

Research protocols will be developed to make the site a reference center for the development of new radiopharmaceuticals and new strategies combining ionizing radiation therapies.
